Welcome to "Grasse, French Riviera, Land of Naturals"!
Grasse is at the heart of a region which stands firm in promoting the use of natural raw materials in perfume, cosmetic, and aromatic compositions. A region, too, intent on making its own floral production – an exceptional product intrinsic to local identity – a broadly-applicable industry model of equitable and sustainable cooperation.
Now recognized as the P.A.S.S. Competitiveness Pole “Parfums, Arômes, Senteurs, Saveurs” (Perfumes, Aromas, Fragrances, Flavors), this region works strenuously to support its core industries in their research and development efforts, and nourishes the breadth and depth of their savoir faire in the face of the global stakes before us: health, consumer safety, environmental protection. This is a challenge magnified by investors who are, and will continue to be, called upon with increasing frequency to foster corporate cultures founded on transparency, social responsibility, and equitable trade.
Natural products are our future. They do not merely echo some nostalgia for a bygone era: For every citizen of the globe, natural products open the door to a truer, more authentic, and more ethical future.
Natural products are, quite simply and in all senses, the life and breath of our planet. They are also an invitation to explore new horizons in innovation and creativity.
To encourage the use of the natural products in perfumery, to unite natural products and ethics in the supply policy and practices, to promote equitable, sustainable, and profitable collaborations – these are the ideals which Centifolia seeks to bring to fruition. Centifolia, an innovative congress dedicated to the perfumery industry actors, organized under the patronage of the Comité Français du Parfum (The French Perfume Committee), whom I personally thank.
The exceptional caliber and experience of the numerous international experts who have agreed to contribute to these discussions should guide our steps as we seek to better integrate positive practices into “the bottom line.” This is my sincere wish for the 7th edition of this event. Thank you to all the speakers for their generous participation, thank you also to the OrganizingCommittee members for their hard work in bringing this congress the great success it so deserves!
